WE WORK WITH client organizations to develop and execute successful merger and acquisition strategies.  Throughout the course of his career, John Lass has managed or been involved in numerous M&A transactions, both on the buy and sell sides.  During his ten-year tenure at CUNA Mutual Group, John was SVP of Strategy and Business Development.  He either led or participated in buy and sell transactions totaling more than $1 billion in value.

Earlier in his career John managed the exit for a number of private companies, including the sale of Hagberg Consulting Group to Accenture and Norm Thompson Outfitters to Golden Gate Capital.  

John has worked with a number of credit union clients to implement merger strategies, including:

  • Defining merger policies and criteria
  • Implementing a screening program to track merger candidates
  • Developing and implementing the outreach program
  • Drafting the offer letter
  • Designing and facilitating the due diligence process

WE ASSIST our M&A clients to identify and secure the most appropriate legal, accounting, and – when appropriate – investment banking professional services to expedite the transaction.  We can also assist in the critical post-merger integration phase.  In this latter activity our proprietary leadership and organizational culture assessment tools have proven to be invaluable resources.
