JOHN LASS
John is the founder and President of Lass Advisory Services LLC. Prior to founding LAS in October 2014, John served as SVP of Strategy and Business Development for CUNA Mutual Group for ten years. Previously he was a strategy consultant with Hagberg Consulting Group and Boston Consulting Group. John’s recent practice has focused on the retail financial services sector and technology start-ups in Silicon Valley. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and his BA from the University of Washington. John loves biking, hiking and music (rock – from a certain era). John lives in Seattle with his wife Lynn.
PETER WEISS
Peter advises our clients in capital structure formation, strategic planning, marketing and sales planning, and overall strategic alignment. For the past three decades Peter has worked closely with early-stage and mature firms in the Pacific Northwest and nationwide.

Peter began his career on Wall Street managing mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. His clients span multiple sectors including technology, retail, service, and manufacturing companies. Peter earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Princeton University. Peter lives on Mercer Island, Washington with his wife Tina.
PETER HUGGINS
As Executive VP at Books Are Fun, Peter was instrumental in growing the business from $4M to $280M in sales over seven years and developing new business divisions that supported a valuation of $380M and sale to Readers Digest Inc. Peter then joined Genetic ID, a company dedicated to food safety and testing. As COO he led the automation testing procedures and outreach to international testing markets.
Previously Peter was CEO of GDL Group located in Los Altos CA. His responsibilities included developing investment products in real estate, oil and gas and R&D partnerships that were marketed to Silicon Valley executives. Peter earned his MBA degree from the Berkeley Haas Graduate School of Business.
CHRIS BOAS
Chris Boas is an experienced entrepreneur and legal advisor. He offers strategic business advice to companies from pre-seed to late-stage venture-backed enterprises. He is the co-founder and Chairman of Zeptoo, a company which creates innovative solutions for mobile banking and mobile payments in emerging markets. He also co-founded Airbanq, established to transform the payday lending and check cashing industries in the US, and Sourcetrace, focused on bringing traceability to agricultural supply chains. For over 25 years, Mr. Boas has also served as legal counsel to emerging growth software and biotechnology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area and has worked with companies at all stages of the development cycle. Chris received his B.S. Degree in Engineering from Stanford and his law degree from the University of San Francisco. He serves on a number of non-profit boards, and lives in Berkeley, CA with his wife and three children.
